About

About Me. Hmmm? Well, I am married to my beautiful wife Gloria and we have an awesome 5yr. old son named Jaden who has Down Syndrome. I’m a guitarist at heart with a passion for singing and songwriting. I’ve played guitar for almost 30 years now and I’ve been in a lot of bands in various genres. I’ve had the pleasure of opening shows for Kansas, Steppenwolf, Blue Oyster Cult, Nazareth, The Outfield, Chris Duarte, Edgar Winter, Building 429 and others. I’ve performed with the Corpus Christi Symphony and The Platters as a session guitarist.
Presently, I am the Multi Site Worship Pastor @ Bay Area Fellowship, which is a huge blessing. It’s allowed me to use my Music Ed. degree to the fullest and has become a real calling for my life. I am currently working with the worship leaders at 5 of our campuses by helping them create and maintain great worship teams at each campus. Above all, my relationship with God is the most important thing in my life and I pray that He would use the gifts He’s given me to reach the lost through engaging worship.

Leading Multi-site- What Leadership DOES, is not what Leadership is.The actions that Leaders display, are not necessarily what Leadership is. I think the best way to unpack this phenomenon is to use another sticky subject to illustrate; LOVE. It can be said that what love does, is not what it is. Love and Leadership. Love and the concept of being ‘in love’ is an universally accepted condition that is evident in every culture […]Allan Kelsey

- Caring for the Soul of Your LeadersSpiritual leadership isn’t just about accomplishing God given results, it’s also about caring for the souls of those we lead along the way. As leaders we are accustomed to meeting with our direct reports and talking to them about action plans, priorities and results, but we often neglect talking to them about the condition of their soul. While we don’t have […]Mac Lake

LOVE “Go Back!” Awesome, Joey! you are very talented. And you ARE actively doing what God’s called you to do! He has anointed you to teach & lead people in praise & worship!
Hey,
Just wanted to drop another line or two. ;0)
Thank you for sharing tonight. And for all the hard work you are putting into our praise team! You are so annointed & called to do this! And I have come to know that you’r heart is true. You are a great guy! And I am so glad that I have had the opportunity to get to know you & help lead God’s children into worship with you & Anne!
I cannot think of a better time! :0)
Please let Gloria & Jaden know how thankful we are…for all they sacrifice…so you can help others…like you are helping us and all the other 5 campuses you lead.
(((HUGS)))
